Laura Jensen called the meeting to order.
Dr. Swensen spoke with parents about the parent compact, guidelines that the school needs to meet to be a Title One School. Those guidelines were approved with a motion made by Brook Forester, 2nd by Brandy Anderson. Parents accepted the motion. She next presented the No Child Left Behind School Plan. A modification was proposed to be made to the plan to add Student Led Conferences to the Parental Involvement Policy. Angela Smith made the motion to accept the plan with the modification, Candace Ros 2nd it. Parents approved the motion.
Tammi Wright presented the annual budget for approval. Yvonne Ruiz Diaz made a motion to approve- parents approved the budget unanimously.
Ms Scott introduced herself as the teacher representative for HOPE. There was no information to share from teachers for HOPE at this time.
Laura introduced changes to this year’s fundraiser. We will not do a carnival or a fun run this year. Boosterthon was announced with a brief outline what to expect. More details will be forthcoming.
Laura asked if there were any questions about jackets & tshirts. Verified the website where parents can purchase these items as well as box-top dress down as hopehappenings.com not .org as it has been in the past. Orders due Sept 30th.
Laura also passed around signup lists for volunteers to help with future events coming up. She clarified on the sign in list that she wanted to know if there were those who were willing to volunteer at home and or at the school. Laura asked if anyone would be willing to print up vinyl decals with the IB traits for the new classrooms. Amelia Prime volunteered to do it.
No input was given when Laura asked on what they can do to make HOPE better and what should be added to the calendar. It was explained why HOPE is not doing popcorn fridays anymore.
Laura closed the meeting with the reminder to parents that the next meeting will be held on September 10th.
